Hello all! Craig here. WELCOME!
* * * * * * * BACK HOME TO BRISTOL
BRISTOL RENAISSANCE FAIRE (Craig's beloved home faire) has two weeks under the belt and seven yet to come. Come to Kenosha, Wisconsin; we've had lovely weather and lovelier people. CLICK on this site's APPEARANCES button for information on this long-established, still-period-minded, predominantly acoustic, summer-long celebration of life and those things which make it worth living! We'll entertain you under the canopy of a grand stand of ancient oaks!

"The Renaissance Festival Podcast, Song Henge, and the Brobdingnagian Bards are pleased to announce the winners of the 3rd Annual Renaissance Festival Awards for 2007. These performers were voted on by you, the Renaissance festival fan."
For 2007, yours truly, CRAIG OF FARRINGTON, was voted Number 3 in the category BEST MUSIC SOLOIST. Congrats to Owain Phyfe, who you voted #1 in the category. And congrats to my old friend, Jesse Linder, who was voter #5!
Listen to the podcasts. They are always fun!
* * * * * * * NEWS on CRAIG's LUTES: * * * * * * *
My former "second lute" (you may have seen it along the way, but its broken rosette kept it undercover for some years) was refurbished last winter in Louisiana by PAUL TUGER, a talented woodworking friend I got to know at THE LOUISIANA RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL. The new rosette is made of walnut, so it has a very distinctive look.
AND I purchased a new Renaissance lute in September '06 - yet another KADONA LUTE - eight courses, fifteen strings, as usual - but its about two-an-a-half inches longer than my two previous "axes," and the sound of the low notes are maybe a bit deeper. Its new custom-made case fits it like a glove. You'll like this new addition, and it has become my instrument of choice for the renfaire lanes.

Have you discovered Craig's latest recording project? It's called "20 Years of Sweet Delights (PG)/20 Years of Spicy Delights (R) - The VERY BEST of CRAIG OF FARRINGTON." A 2-volume piece featuring a total of thirty-four songs - mostly your favorites (selected from those most-mentioned at my REQUEST SHOWs), it includes cuts from all seven of the albums . . . the four early cassettes and the three original CDs. Each volume features brand new recordings interspersed with old favorites.
New cuts on the SPICY album include "THE BARTENDER BOBBB" and my parody of Tim Henderson's "Mrs. Stein" - "MADAM G. DON'T RENT TO GYPSIES ANYMORE."
For the SWEET album, I have finally recorded the two classic BRISTOL goodbye songs, Jerry Spurlock's "BRING ON THE STARLIGHT" and an old Irish song, "THE PARTING GLASS" as well as "SHE MOVED THROUGH THE FAIR," a piece many, many folks have urged me to sing throughout the years.
Find "20 Years of Delights" wherever CRAIG OF FARRINGTON can be found, or CLICK into www.cdbaby.com.
